let the length of longer leg be Xm
given the length of shorter leg is7m
so the length of hypotenous is(X+1)m
Pythagorus Theorem
a 2 + b 2 = c 2
Where:
c is the hypotenuse of a right angle triangle and a and b are twosides containg the right angle.
so according to Pythagorus Theorem X 2 + 7 2 = ( X + 1 ) 2
X 2 + 49 = X 2 + 1 + 2 X
49= 1 + 2X
48= 2X
24= X
X= 24
therefore length of the longer leg 24m
