Statement in question gives out facts:
KM = 35
KL = 2x-5
LM = 2x
Solving , we know that KM = KL + LM, hence,
KM = KL+LM = 2x-5+2x = 4x-5 ( as given in figure, KM is a line)
It is given that KM = 35, so equating :
Now, KM = 4x-5 = 35
4x = 40
x = 10
Subbing value of x = 10 in the following:
KL = 2x-5 = 2*10 -5 = 15
KL = 15
