b)Fermat's Principle - When light travels from one medium from one medium from point A to another medium of point B then it always moves in such a way that it takes minimum time.
Using this principle , law of reflection and law of refraction (Snell's Law) are derived.
a)Paraxial Rays - It means light rays that are incidents on the optical devices (Mirror, lenses etc) are very closer to the principal axis . By this assumptions we say that aperture of device is very small.
If this approximation holds then unique focal point is defined otherwise spherical aberration in mirror occurs.
