A function in which relationships are inverse, i.e., if x doubles, y halves, or if x becomes n times, y becomes 1n times its value, is called an inverse function (let's say of the type y=f(x)).
Obviously in such cases xy=k, where k is a constant. As in the given equation y=2x, xy=2, it is an inverse function.
