Monochromatic light of wavelenth 655 nm falls on a slit. If the angle between the first bright fringes on either side of the central maximum os 32 degrees, estimate the slit width.

Considering it is single slit, θ = 32 / 2 = 16 λ = 655 × 10 9 m
To calculate the slit width,
λ = a sin θ a = λ sin θ a = 655 × 10 9 sin ( 16 ) a = 2.38 μ m
