A wave along a guitar string has a frequency of 440 Hz and a wavelength of 1.5 m. What is the speed of the wave?

We know:
wavelenght of the wave $\lambda :1.5m$ frequency of the string
We need to work out the speed of the wave v.
Formula for wave's speed is:
$v=\lambda \cdot \nu$
We just have to insert initial values:
$v=1.5\text{m}\cdot 440\frac{1}{\text{s}}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=660\frac{\text{m}}{\text{s}}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}v=660\frac{\text{m}}{\text{s}}$
