The maximum and minimum thermometer:
Measuring a location's daily high and low temperatures is useful. It is a U-shaped tube that contains mercury and alcohol. The maximum temperature is provided by the right tube, while the minimum temperature is provided by the left tube. Working of maximum and minimum thermometer:
When the temperature increases, the alcohol in the left tube expands. This causes the mercury to move towards the right tube. A metal indices on the right tube also shifts which gives us the maximum temperature for that day. The alcohol in the left tube shrinks as the temperature drops, and the mercury moves into the left tube. The minimum temperature of the day is given to us by shifting metal indices in the left tube.
