In a straight path, light moves. As a result, light coming from the top of the item enters the pinhole and travels to the bottom of the camera screen, while light coming from the bottom of the object enters the pinhole and travels to the top of the screen. The image is so inverted as a result. So, answer is due to rectilinear propagation of light
