Multiply by
[ a a b b ]
and substitute the result in the RHS to get the LHS.
Note that the LHS is
I [ a a b b ]
Thus you get the same expression on both sides of
[ 1 a a b 1 b ] = 1 a + b [ b a b a ] + 1 a b a + b [ a a b b ] .
