$(3{a}^{4}-2{a}^{2}+5a-10)$ - $(2{a}^{4}+4{a}^{2}+5a-2)$, we should

distribute the negative to all of $(2{a}^{4}+4{a}^{2}+5a-2)$

so - $(2{a}^{4}+4{a}^{2}+5a-2)$ is equal to -$2{a}^{4}-4{a}^{2}-5a+2$

we can take

$3{a}^{4}-2{a}^{2}+5a-10$

-$2{a}^{4}-4{a}^{2}-5a+2$

= ${a}^{4}-6{a}^{2}-8$
