How do I bring the remaining x to the LHS?

to get

I'm just not sure about the background operations to isolate the x.

Rewrite

Then you can add the latter term to both sides of your equation to get
x | q 2 q 1 | ± x = 2 | q 2 q 1 | ,
or
x [ | q 2 q 1 | ± 1 ] = 2 | q 2 q 1 | .
Dividing both sides by the second term on the left then yields
x = 2 | q 2 q 1 | | q 2 q 1 | ± 1 = 2 | q 2 | | q 2 | ± | q 1 | ,
