As we are converting nm, or nanometers, to meters, we should use negative exponents since we are doing so from a small measurement to a larger one.
if 1 nm is 1 × 10 - 9 m, then 560 is 560 × 10 - 9
For convenience, we convert 560 to 5.6 in scientific notation.
we divided 560 by 100, the exponent for 100 is 10 2
add the exponent x 2 to x - 9 and you get the exponent x - 7
and x = 5.6 so 560 nm is 5.6 × 10 - 7 m.
