the perimeter p=2 width + p = 2 length
p=2x+2(x+20)
according to the problem, the perimeter = 500 f t 2
p=2x+2x+40=500
4x=460
divide both sides by 4 to get x=115
so width = 115 f t 2
and length = 135 f t 2
