Suppose k { 1 , 2 , , 5 } is fixed. Then P ( A i c ) = 1 P ( A i ) for all i = 1 , 2 , , 5. Therefore,
i = 1 k P ( A i c ) = k i = 1 k P ( A i ) = k [ 1 i > k P ( A i ) ] = k 1 + i > k P ( A i ) .
Of course, if k = 5, i > k P ( A i ) = 0
