Standard deck :
There are 52 cards in standard deck.
1) It contain 13 rank ( Ace , 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, Jack , Queen , King ). Each rank has 4 cards.
2)There are four suits: hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs. Thus there are 13 hearts, 13 diamonds, 13 spades, and 13 clubs.
3) There are 26 red cards and 26 black cards. The diamonds and hearts are printed in red. The spades and clubs are printed in black.
4)The jacks, queens, and kings are all considered face cards. There are total 12 face cards.
General formula of probability is,
Probability=Number of favorable outcomesTotal outcomes
Step 2
We have to find P(five | nonface card)
i.e we have to find probability that selected card is five given that it is nonface card.
There are total 12 face cards.( Queen , Jack , King )
Nonface cards =5212=40
Out of 40 cards , 4 cards are numbered 5
So, P(five | nonface card) =440=110
The probability is 110.
