1. On a sheet of graph paper, draw scalene acute ABC.
- Draw side BC of ABC along a grid line.
- Be sure all vertices are placed at the intersection of grid lines.
2. Draw an altitude, AD of ABC from point A to BC.
3. Label the figure you have drawn by indicating cingruent sides, angles, and measures.
4. Reflect ABC across the line containing BC.
5. On a separate sheet of graph paper, repeat steps 1-4 with a scalene obtuse ABC.
6. Discuss with your group the properties of the kites ACAB

Scalene traingle:
All sides are of different sizes.
1. Draw CB=3cm. C(1,0),B(4,0)
2. Take point A(2,2), join CA and BA.
3. Drop normal AD on AB, D(2,0).
4. Calculate CA and AB using Pythagorus theorem.
5. Calculate angles C and B using arctan, and angle A using angle sum property.
6. Reflect A to A' across CB, Point A(2,2).
7. Join CA', BA' and DA'.
In case of obtuse triangle. (refer to figure in step 4)
1. A(0,2), B(4,0), C(1,0).
2. Drop normal AD on extended BC. D(0,0).
3. AC=5, Using pythagorus.
4. Using cosine formula to calculate AB.
AB=AC2+CB22ACCBcosACB
5. Angle can be found using arctan and angle sum property of traingle.
6. Reflect A across CB , such that A'(0,-2).
7. Join CA' and BA'.
1. In case 1 (acute triangle) AA' and BC are diagonals.
In case 2 (obtuse triangle) the diagonal BC is inside the kite ABA'C and diagonal AA' is outside the kite ABA'C.
2. In both case the lines CA and CA' are equal to each other and the lines BA and BA' are equal to each other.
3. The acute triangle gives convex kite whereas abtuse angle gives concave kite.
