A mechanical force is defined as a force that involves direct interactions between two things and results in a change in the configuration of objects.
Types of mechanical force:
There are three types of mechanical force, such as:
Tensile force: The stretching force exerted upon that material, which has 2 aspects: tensile stress and tensile strain. Whenever a material is exposed to tensile strain, it undergoes stretch, culminating throughout dimension elongation and cross-section contraction. Example: Stretching of the rubber band.Compressive force: Whenever a material gets subjected to crushing or squeezing, it is called compressive force. The pillar that holds supporting the bridge is reported to be compressed. Whenever a compressive force applies to almost any material, the length of such substance lowers.Shear force: Shear force is the force operating on a particular material in the direction opposite. The above force would be a combination of shear stress-strain. The material can indeed be curved, slid, and twisted by shear force
