The gravitational constant, abbreviated "G," is a physical constant used to calculate the gravitational effects.
According to Newton's law of universal gravitation, the gravitational force acting between two masses m 1 and m 2 , separated by a distance R is given by
F = G m 1 m 2 R 2 where G is the universal gravitational constant.
The gravitational force between two bodies of equal mass that are kept at an equal distance from one another constitutes the universal gravitational constant. The value of G is a universal constant and doesn't change. Its value is 6.67 × 10 11   N m 2 / k g 2 .
