The inference method that is used to support the research claim based on the sample data is called significance testing.
Prerequisites for significance testing: The prerequisites for significance testing are as follows:
-It should be able to frame null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis for one-tailed and two-tailed test.
-Need to specify the level of significance of the test.
-Obtain sample test statistic and compute p-value of obtaining the test statistic as significant from the parameter that is specified in H0 given it is true.
-Finally compare the p-value with level of significance. If p-value is less than the level of significance, then the test is said to be significant.
