Chi square test is a type of non parametric hypothesis testing method. Which is used in the following cases,
Case 1 : Chi square χ2 good ness of fit test used to determine difference of proportion in each category differ from the expected proportion or not.
Case 2 : Chi square association test is useful to determine whether there is association between two categorical variables or not.Option (A) - False, Chi-square test assumes one non-random sample is drawn from an independent population.
Because, one of the most important assumption of chi square test is Randomization. Which means all the samples in a data set should be drawn randomly and independently from a large population. Hence, Chi-square test cannot assume that one non-random sample is drawn from an independent population.
