If you multiply each entry of a set by 3 and added 1, how would the mean and standard deviation change?

Let Y=3X+1, then if $\stackrel{―}{x}$ and $\sigma$ are the mean and S.D. of X, then those of y are respectively $\stackrel{―}{y}=3\stackrel{―}{x}+1$ and
${\sigma }_{y}=3{\sigma }_{x}$
