Im trying to find a polar coordinate (r, theta) given the cartisian coordinates. I looked at a similar question and solved it that way, though my answer is wrong Cartesian*
Cartesian point is (-5,5)

I think my answer is more understable
Cartesian (-5,5)
We know that x=rcosθ
y=rsinθ
So to go to polar
x2+y2
(5)2+52
25+25
50
=225
52
Now we need to find θ
tanθ=yx
θ=tan1(yx)
=tan1(55)
=tan1(1)
3π4
