We can then substitute x in to find the gradient at x=5.
Therefore, 12(5)2=12.
This is our gradient.
Then we need to find y at the point x=5.
Substitute into x22x to get (5)22(5)=15.
Now we can use the equation of yy1=m(xx1).
Therefore:
y15=12(x5)
Expand and rearrange:
y15=12x52
y=12x+252
2y=x+25.
