I recommend dividing both sides by 7.
Then you are left with (x4)×(x4)=4
May x4 be aka y because why not.
y×y=4
y=2 (or minus two. Sorry, Descartes!)
x4=2(or x4=2)
x=4+2(or x=42)
x=6

We have 7(x4)2=28 , divide both sides by 7 then
(x4)2=4
now take square root on both sides then
(x4)=2 or (x4)=2
now add 4 on both sides in each equation then
x=6 or x=2
