Let one number be x. Then, the next two consecutive numbers will be x+1 and x+2.
∴ Add up these three numbers = x + (x+1) + (x+2) = 3x + 3
According to the question, 3x + 3 = x + 5
3 x x = 5 3 [transposing 125 to RHS]
2 x = 2
2 x 2 = 2 2 [dividing both sides by 2]
x = 1
Thus, the numbers are 1, 1+1, 1+2 i.e. 1, 2, 3.
