Hayden Dudley

Specify a and b as the number
$a+b=20$
$a-b=6$
$\left(a+b\right)+\left(a-b\right)=20+6$

$2a=26$
$a=13$
Subtracting we get
$\left(a+b\right)-\left(a-b\right)=20-6$

$2b=14$
$b=7$
Therefore, the numbers are 7 and 13
