Two lines are parallel if they have the same slope.
You can find the slope of a line using the slope-intercept form of the equation which these two equations are already in.
The slope-intercept form of a linear equation is:
y=mx+b
Where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept value.
y=3x+7
y=3x−8
Both of these equations have the same slope of m=3
Therefore these two lines are parallel.
