If a sequence (or progression) is arithmetic, then the difference between any two terms is the same.
We ask: Is T 4 - T 3 = T 3 - T 2 = T 2 - T 1 ?
T 4 - T 3 = 14 - ( - 15 ) = 29
T 3 - T 2 = - 15 - ( - 44 ) = 29
T 2 - T 1 = - 44 - ( - 73 ) = 29
In each case the difference is the same. This value is called the common difference: d=29
This is therefore an arithmetic sequence.
