a)   D  (  t  )  =  (  −  16      t          2        +  96  t  )  −  (  −  16      t          2        +  80  t  )  =  16  tb) After 2 seconds, the difference in the heights of the twoballs is D(2).Hence D(2) = 16(2) = 32 feet.
