We can use permutation in order to solve the given problem.
A permutation of n item taken $\gamma$ at a time is an ordered list of $\gamma$ item chosen from n.
$P\left(n,r\right)=\frac{n!}{\left(n-r\right)!}$
Now, choosing 6 objects from 7.
$P\left(7,6\right)=\frac{7!}{\left(7-6\right)!}=7\ne 5040$
