$f\left(x\right)=\left\{{x}^{2}+2,x\le 1$ This function will take the value for x less than and equal to 1 ........(˙1).
$f\left(x\right)=\left\{{x}^{2}+2,x>1$ This function will take the value for x greater than 1 ..................(˙2)
(a)In f(-2) value of x is less than 1 so we will put value of x in
$f\left(-2\right)=-{2}^{2}+2=4+2=6$
(b)In f(1) value of x is equal to 1 so we will put value of x in (1)
$f\left(1\right)=12+2=1+2=3$
