For the following reasons, dwellings do not utilize DC current: First of all, DC is challenging to produce since solar cells and batteries both contribute significantly to its production. Direct current experiences greater power loss during transmission compared to alternating current. DC is riskier than AC for the same voltage value. Being touched will create extra problems because the voltage does not reach zero. Transformers can quickly convert alternating current from low voltage to high voltage or vice versa, but direct current cannot be simply stepped up or down with the aid of a transformer. In DC rather than AC, electrolytic corrosion is more likely to occur. DC is thus not utilized in households.
