A long, U-shaped section of the tubular component of the nephron is known as the Henle's loop or loop of Henle. Water cannot pass through the ascending limb of the loop of Henle, but electrolytes may. Water can pass through the loop of Henle's descending limb, but electrolytes cannot. The ascending limb of the henle loop experiences the least amount of reabsorption.
