the equation of a line in point-slope form is.
| 2 2 y - y 1 = m ( x - x 1 ) 2 2 | ̲ ¯
where m represents the slope and ( x 1 , y 1 ) a point on the line
to calculate m use the gradient formula
| 2 2 m = y 2 - y 1 x 2 - x 1 2 2 | ̲ ¯
where ( x 1 , y 1 ) , ( x 2 , y 2 ) are 2 coordinate points
the points are ( x 1 , y 1 ) = ( 4 , 5 ) , ( x 2 , y 2 ) = ( - 3 , 8 )
m = 8 - 5 - 3 - 4 = 3 - 7 = - 3 7
( x 1 , y 1 ) can be either of the 2 given points
using ( x 1 , y 1 ) = ( 4 , 5 ) and m = - 3 7
y - 5 = - 3 7 ( x - 4 ) in point-slope form
