3x−2y=6
2y=3x−6
y = ( 3 2 ) x - 6
Slope of the line = m = 3 2
Slope of perpendicular line = - 1 m = - 2 3
( y - y 1 ) = - ( 1 m ) ( x - x 1 )
Equation of the perpendicular line passing through point (4,−2) is
( y + 2 ) = ( - 2 3 ) ( x - 4 )
3 y + 6 = - 2 x + 8
2 x + 3 y = 2
Let x = 0 , y = 2 3
Let x=1, y=0
Now we know two ordered pairs.
We can plot it on a graph sheet and join the points to form the line.
