Given data:
In a class of 10 students, James got 3rd position from the lowest.
To find:
What is his percentile rank?
Solution: To find percentile Rank
Percentile Rank is given by:
P . R = [ L + ( 0.5 × s ) / N ] × 100 %
Where:
L = No. of below rank
s = No. of some rank
N = Total number
Here L = 2 (Below ranks are one f two)
s = only one some rank
Percentie rank = [ 2 + ( 0.5 1 ) / 10 ] × 100 % = [ 2 + 0.5 / 10 ] × 100 % = 2.5 10 × 100 % P.R = 25 %
