The given sequence is :1,−3,9,−27,...
First term : a 1 = 1 and
common ratio : r = - 27 9 = 9 - 3 = - 3 1 = - 3
Now, a 1 = 1 , a 2 = - 3 , a 3 = 9 , a 4 = - 27
So, the next three terms are :
a 5 = ( a 4 ) ( r ) = ( - 27 ) ( - 3 ) = 81
a 6 = ( a 5 ) ( r ) = ( 81 ) ( - 3 ) = - 243
a 7 = ( a 6 ) ( r ) = ( - 243 ) ( - 3 ) = 729
