Defining line that passes through a:(−1,3) as l 1 .
Defining line that passes through b:(6,−4),c:(5,2) as l 2 .
Find the gradient of l 2 .
m 2 = y b - y c x b - x c = - 4 - 2 6 - 5 = - 6
l 2 l 1
So m 1 = - 1 m 2 = - 1 - 6 = 1 6
Equation of l 1 :
y - y a = m 1 ( x - x a )
y - 3 = 1 6 ( x + 1 )
6 y - 18 = x + 1
6 y = x + 19
Or however you want it arranged.
