There are several ways of indicating the equation of a straight line:
There are all interchangeable.
ax+by+c=0 is general form
ax+by=c is standard form
y=mx+c is slope-intercept form
y - y 1 = m ( x - x 1 ) is point slope form use this one
m = 1 2 and ( 7 , - 6 )
y - ( - 6 ) = 1 2 ( x - 7 )
y + 6 = 1 2 ( x - 7 ) is the required form.
