The equation of a line in standard form is.
| 2 2 A x + B y = C 2 2 | ̲ ¯
where A is a positive integer and B, C are integers.
Rearrange y - 6 = - 3 ( x + 2 ) into this form
distribute and simplify.
y - 6 = - 3 x - 6
add 3x to both sides.
3 x + y - 6 = - 3 x + 3 x - 6
3 x + y - 6 = - 6
add 6 to both sides.
3 x + y - 6 + 6 = - 6 + 6
3 x + y = 0 in standard form
