Jane's husband is 2m tall. The ceiling in their lounge is 2.5m high and there is a lamp which hangs 41cm from the ceiling. Will her husband bump his head on the lamp if he walks through the lounge?

The bottom of the lamp will be 41 cm below the ceiling.
2.5m−41cm
=2.5m−0.41m
=2.09m from the floor.
Jan's husband is 2m tall so the top of his head will be 9cmfrom the bottom of the lamp.
No, he will not hit his head on the lamp.
