These two are similar because both AM and FM waves are later converted into a sound waves and they differ becaUse in the case of AM waves amplitude is varying and in case of FM waves frequency is varying.
Result:
AM and FM waves are both converted into a sound waves, but amplitude of AM waves varies and frequency of FM varies.
