Let the distance travelled in the trip be equal to x
Hence, speed of the express train = x 4
Speed of the local train = x 4
Given that, x 4 = x 5 + 12 x 20 = 12 x = 240
Hence, speed of express = 240 4 = 60
Speed of local train 240 5 = 48
