Dividing by e x
d y d x + 2 y = e - x
this linear non-homogeneus differential equation has as solution
y = y h + y p
such that
d y h d x + 2 y h = 0
and
d y p d x + 2 y p = e - x
For the homogeneus we obtain easily ( variables grouping)
y h = C 0 e - 2 x
and for the particular, y p = e - x verifies the differential condition.
so the solution is
y = C 0 e - 2 x + e - x
