1 nickel worth $0.05,1 dime worth $0.10 and
1 quarter worth $0.25.
300 nickels worth $ 0.05 300 = $ 15
Total value of quarter and dime is 119 - 15 = $ 104
Let the number of dimes are x, then quarters are x+10
in number. x 0.1 + ( 10 + x ) 0.25 = 104.00
0.1 x + 0.25 x = 104.00 - 2.5 or
0.35 x = 101.50 x = 101.50 0.35 = 290 x + 10 = 300
The number of dimes are 290 and quarters are 300 in
number in the wishing well. [Ans]
