To start this equation you take the given hight of the lighthouse which is 14m tall. Then you take the given cast of the shadow which is 28m long. Then you take the given shadow of the lighthouse keeper which is 3.5m long. Now you are only left with one unknown variable which is how tall she is we can say her high is X?.
Now since you want the hight of the person you would have to take14m/28=the variable uknown X/3.5m her casted shadow. Then you simply cross multiply so you would get 28x=14*3.5 then you just simply divide the 28 over to the left because you want to the variable X by it self, so then you end up with your final answer.
