You need to work the problem backwards. Your generic equation isgoing to be:
y = ( y 2 ) - 1 and that is tosay that y represents the amount of money Albert has and so by thisyou can calculate how much money he has after each store. Wellsince you need to calculate how much he had in the first place youneed to substitute 0 in for y but not for the ( y 2 ) because 0 doesnot equal -1.
To explain that better, y depends on y 2 and not viceversa when going backwards. If you were trying to go forwards (i.e.find how much money he had after 5 stores when given an initialvalue) then you would say that y 2 depends on y.
