let the two digits be x(unit digit) and y(tens digit)
x+y = 12
x y = 1 2
2x = y substitute this into x+y=12
2x+x = 12
x = 4
y = 12 -4 = 8
so the number is 84

Since the digits have to add to 12 the only possible choices are 39, 48, 57, 66, 75, 84, and 93
Pick the one with the unit digit half as big as the tens.
That leaves 84.
