First law of thermodynamics:
d Q = d u + p d V
Now dW=pdV
Specific work: d W M = p d V M = p α
Where, α = change in specific volume = d V M
Again,
Heat capacity, C = d Q d T
specific heat capacity, c = C M = d Q M d T = d h d T
where, d h = d Q M energy added by heating per unit mass.
Then, c p = ( d h d T ) P ,   c v = ( d h d T ) α
Now d u = c v d T
d h = c v d T + p d α
Further,
d h = c p d T
Then,
c p d T = c v d T + p d α
This is the required first law of thermodynamics.
