In general: distance between two points ( x 1 , y 1 ) and ( x 2 , y 2 ) is
( x 2 - x 1 ) 2 + ( y 2 - y 1 ) 2
Therefore by inserting x 1 as -7, y 1 as 8, x 2 as 3 and y 2 as 7:
Distance = ( 3 - - 7 ) 2 + ( 7 - 8 ) 2
Distance = 10 2 + ( - 1 ) 2
Distance = 100 + 1
Distance = 101
